Lois VanLiew received a Bachelor of Art Education degree from Kansas University. At KU, she studied painting with Robert Sudlow, Robert Green and Raymond Eastwood. Since graduating from KU, she has been a studio artist. For four years, Lois taught high school art in Kansas City and later taught adult education classes in Wisconsin, where she lived for many years. She returned to Kansas in 2004, and has continued her art career. Lois works in a variety of mediums and subject matters. Her paintings are very distinctive for their unique color and texture.
Lois has won numerous awards and her work has been included in invitational shows and juried regional and national exhibits. Her work is represented in both private and museum collections.
