Artist Profile Diane L. Lawrence Forms that radiate vibrant color energize my soul and lead me on a delightful journey into expression with watercolor or silk. The vehicle for this color discovery may be brilliant poppy or a shimmering fish, they are both wondrous creations of nature and celebrations of life. Originally from St. Louis, Diane graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute and taught in the Independence, Missouri public school district. She moved to Kansas in 1975. She is a member of the Kansas Watercolor Society and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. Diane has received many awards throughout her career and her watercolors have been selected for many important exhibitions including the prestigious Watercolor USA exhibition. Her work has been published in Leanin’ Tree Inc. and has been chosen for many corporate and private collections such as the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas; Lockton Insurance Company in Shawnee Mission, Kansas; the First Charter Bank in Kansas City, Missouri; Anderson Accounting and the First National Bank in Chicago, Illinois. Her work also was selected for the Key Club for the United Way of Greater Topeka and she was chosen as the poster artist for the Topeka Festival Singers in 1995.
