Deb is a retired pastor with a love of watercolor and experiences it as a spiritual discipline. She has no formal training in art, but her passion has driven her to associate with artists in Northeast Kansas including the Columbian Artists. She has been painting for less than a decade and has attended workshops with some of the finest watercolorists in the United States. Many of them through the Manhattan Watercolor Studio at the Manhattan Arts Center. She has studied with Pomona Hallenbeck, Paul Jackson, Larry Lombardo, and many other nationally known artists. Recently, she had her painting "Sons of Jubal - Genesis 4:21" was accepted in the 2013 Kansas Watercolor Society's National Exhibition in Wichita. She credits her association with the Columbian Artists and the Manhattan Watercolor Studio for their encouragement and helpful critique in her rapid growth as an artist. She also teaches classes on Mondays in watercolor at her studio located in Centralia, Kansas.
